Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To shorten the period of operation by interrupting the timing of bit operator to access a memory when a word operating means is necessary. CONSTITUTION:When the bit operator 4 detects a word operating instruction code, the counting of a program counter 2 is stopped, switches 10-13 are controlled and a word operating means 8 is enabled to access a sequence control program memory 3 through a gate controlling line 23 to read out the parameter of a word operating instruction and execute word operation. At that time, the kind of the word operation is discriminated, and when the bit operation of the succeeding step may be started, a bit operation starting signal is sent to a gate switching request line 24 and the switches 10-13 are turned to the original state to restart the bit operation. In this case, word operation and bit operation are executed in parallel.
