Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent picture, by arranging alternately unit sensors at both sides of a reference line so that the end of a photosensitive picture element region of adjacent unit sensors are overlapped with each other. CONSTITUTION:The unit sensors 23-26 are arranged on a mounting substrate 22. The photosensitive picture element regions 27-30 are formed on the semiconductor substrate in the sensors 23-26 and CCD shift registers 31-34 are provided together as a readout means from the regions 27-30. The sensors 23-26 are arranged alternately at both sides of a reference line 35 by directing the long side of the semiconductor substrate located shiftedly with the regions 27- 30 to the reference line 35 and the ends of the picture element region of the adjacent sensors 23-26 are overlapped with each other.
