Manufacture of container for storage battery

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent any leakage of electrolyte effectively by injecting a thermoplastic resin which is the same as that forming a container body into a space formed between the inner surface of the penetrating hole of the container body and the outer circumference surface of an electrode-leading-out member so as to seal these surfaces. CONSTITUTION:A metal mold 14 is brought into contact with the side inner surface of a container body 11 as well as the end surface 13b of an electrode- leading-out member 13 which is located on the inner side of the container body 11. At the same time, another metal mold 15 is brought into contact with the pointed end 11d of an annular projection 11b as well as the outer end surface 13c of the member 13. After that, through a resin injection hole 15a provided in the other metal mold 15, a thermoplastic resin which is the same as a thermoplastic resin of which the container body 11 is formed is injected into a space surrounded by the metal mold 14, the other metal mold 15, the inner wall of the penetrating hole 11a of the container body 11 and the outer circumference surface of the member 13. As a result, the thus injected molded resin 17 seals the inner wall of the penetrating hole 11a as well as the outer circumference surface of the member 13.
