Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To simplify the mechanism and to attain a compact and light-weight structure for a recording or reproducing device, by providing a stabilizing member at a cassette storing part to ensure the stable traveling of a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:When an outer cover 14 is opened to load out or in a cassette 2, an upper stabilizing member 16 is turned clockwise with a lever 12 and parallel link mechanisms 14, 13 and 16. Therefore the member 16 touches approximatly the inner wall of the cover 14 and shunts from the moving locus of the cassette 2. When the cover 14 is set back at the recording or reproducing position, the member 16 is loaded again into the cassette 2 by an amount (h). Thus upper and lower stabilizing members 16 and 17 function to ensure the stable traveling of a magnetic sheet 1. In such a way, the space between the member 16 and the cassette storing part is changed in response to the opening/closing actions of the cover 14. Thus the constitution for shunt of the member 16 is simplified.
