Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To clean only a transfer material supporting member without requesting special operation of cleaning for an operator or a customer engineer by providing a transfer material supporting member cleaning mode wherein a cleaning member which cleans the transfer material supporting member is operated selectively. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning mode selection switch A is turned on and the number of copies is set with a setting switch B for the number of copies, thereby determining the cleaning time of a drum 33 as the transfer material supporting member. When a copy operation start switch C is turned on, a transfer drum driving part E is driven through a control part D to rotate the transfer drum 33 for the time determined by the switch B, and the transfer drum cleaning member 40 is also operated to clean the transfer material supporting member on the transfer drum 33, i.e. screen member 333. If the number of copies is not set with the switch B, or when this switch B is not provided, the screen member 333 is cleaned for the time corresponding to one copy.
