Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To suppress a turning back distortion in an optical system, also to reduce deterioration of resolution to the utmost, and to obtain an image pickup output having a good picture quality, by providing in cascade the first and the second optical low-pass filters on the front side of an image pickup part. CONSTITUTION:Space frequency in the horizontal direction sampled by an image pickup part and space frequency in the vertical direction are denoted as (u) and (v), respectively, and on a two-dimensional space co-ordinate plane indicated by an axis of abscissa being Pxu/2pi and an axis of ordinates being Pyv, the first optical low-pass filter whose trap characteristic is indicated by a straight line which passes through co-ordinates (1/2, 1/2) and crosses each axis of co-ordinates and a straight line which is parallel to said straight line and passes through co-ordinates (-1/2, -1/2), and the second optical low-pass filter whose trap characteristics is indicated by a straight line which passes through co- ordinates (-1/2, 1/2) and crosses each axis of co-ordinates and a straight line which is parallel to said straight line and passes through co-ordinates (1/2, -1 /2) are cascaded and provided on the front side of the image pickup part. In this way, an image pickup output having a good picture quality can be obtained from the image pickup part of a checked structure.
