Liquid crystal composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:A liquid crystal composition, prepared by incorporating plural types of compounds expressed by specific formulas, having steep threshold value and improved display quality in multiple duty driving, and optionally setting the threshold voltage value while retaining the good angle of visibility. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal composition obtained by incorporating one or more compounds selected from the group of compounds expressed by formula I [R is CnH2n+1 (n is an integer 1-10)], e.g. a compound expressed by formula II, with a compound selected from the group of compounds expressed by formula III [R and R' are CnH2n+1 or O-CnH2n+1 (n is an integer 1-10)], e.g. a compound expressed by formula IV. USE:Time-sharing driving type liquid crystal display devices.
