Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the time accuracy of a horizontal synchronizing reproduction signal and to realize a stable horizontal reproduction, by finding an average horizontal period value and corrective value of horizontal synchronizing signals detected from digital video signals and obtaining the horizontal synchronizing reproduction signal. CONSTITUTION:A digital video signal 11 becomes a composite synchronizing signal after a synchronizing separation signal is separated at a separating circuit 123 for horizontal synchronism and a chromatic frequency component is removed by an LPF 127. When the counted value of a counter circuit 129 for detecting horizontal synchronizing pulse width reaches a prescribed value, the 1st horizontal synchronism detect signal (Hs') is outputted from a width detecting circuit 131. A period detecting counter 141 is a 11-bit counter which counts the sampling clock, and the counted value of the counter circuit 129 is transferred to a period memory 144 by the output of a horizontal synchronism periodicity/continuity circuit 138 in accordance with the signal from a latch pulse generating circuit 146 and the difference between the counted value and that of the last time is detected and a discrimination signal 152 is outputted.
