Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To attain the information transmission independently the state of transmission line, by obtaining the error rate of the transmission line from the result of response from a receiving side in HDLC, obtaining an optimum frame length through the error rate and setting variably the size of a readout area of a buffer circuit in response to the optimum frame length so as to vary the frame length. CONSTITUTION:A receiving circuit 30 discriminates whether a received response signal represents the normal receiving or the request of retransmission. An error rate calculating circuit 40 calculates the error rate every time the number and value of the transmission bits reach a prescribed value. A state control circuit 60 sets the amount of data information read out at one time from a buffer circuit 10 according to optimum frame length information outputted from an optimum frame length calculating circuit 50 and controls movably the readout area of the buffer circuit 10 stepwise in response to the result of discrimination of the response signal at the receiving circuit 30. The optimum frame length determining circuit 50 performs calculation to obtain the optimum frame length every time the result of calculation of the error rate is outputted from the error rate calculating circuit 40.
