Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To make wiring of a cable unnecessary, and to move, increase, eliminate, etc. easily each apparatus, by constituting so that each apparatus is connected to each other by an optical signal through an optical transmitter and receiver and an optical reflecting means which are installed on each apparatus. CONSTITUTION:An operating signal from a keyboard 1 is converted to an optical signal by a transmitter 10, and is transmitted to an optical reflecting means 5. The optical signal which reaches the means 5 is reflected, is propagated in the air, and a part of its signal is photodetected by an optical receiver 20 installed in a computer 2. The computer 2 executes a prescribed operation in accordance with the operating signal transmitted from the keyboard 1. A result of this operation is converted to an optical signal by the optical receiver 20, and is transmitted to the means 5. The reflected ray showing the operation result, which is reflected by the means 5 is propagated in the air, a part of which is photodetected by an optical receiver 30 installed in a printer 3. The printer 3 prints out the transmitted operation result from the computer 2. According to said constitution, it is unnecessary to execute wiring of a cable, etc. between each apparatus.
