Paper feeding box

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain both center- and one-side-setting of copy paper sheets by providing a feeding box with an engaging/disengaging means which allows the rack of a side guide on one side to be engaged or disengaged with/from a pinion. CONSTITUTION:A pair of guides 17 and 18 are brought near or away with or from each other in a synchronized manner to find a suitable position by means of a rack 20 and a pinion 13. With this state maintained, copy paper shects are set by taking their centers as a reference. On the other hand, an engaging/ disengaging means 28, which engages/disengages a rack of the side guide 17 on one side with or from the pinion 13, is provided. When the rack of the side guide 17 on one side is disengaged from the pinion 13, said side guide is locked at a predetermined position by means of a locking means 28. Under this condition, the copying paper sheets are set by taking their edges on one side as a reference. With this contrivance, the copy paper sheets can be set by taking either their centers or edges on one side as the reference.
