Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To accurately detect a lightning strike position in good workability, by using a magnetic sensor while moving the same along a transmission line. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic sensor 18 is attached to the midair vehicle or a self-propelling machine suspended from a transmission line 10 to be moved therealong. Because a lightning current spirally flows around the copper core 12 of the transmission line 10, the directional change of a magnetic field with this current flow is detected by the sensor 18 and a lightning strike position can be accurately detected in good workability.
