Knocking restraining liquid injection/ignition timing control device in spark ignition type internal-combustion engine
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent detonation from occuring, by controlling the injection amount of knocking restraining liquid in accordance with the operating condition of an engine, and as well by reducing the degree of ignition timing spark advance to a value at which detonation does not occure, if the nocking liquid is consumed. CONSTITUTION:During engine operation a control device 50 determines the degree Tt of ignition timing spark advance, the amount Wt of water injection and the amount DELTAT of ignition timing compensation in accordance with the rotational speed of an engine detected by a rotating angle sensor 48b, the amount of intake-air detected by an air flowmeter 19 and the temperature of intake-air detected by an intake-air temperature sensor 57. Then, if it is determined in accordance with the output of a quantity sensor 49 that the amount of water in a tank 4 is not zero, water in the amount Wt of water injection is injected from a water injection valve 41 when the operating condition of the engine is such that the temperature of cooling water is above a predetermined value and the opening degree of a throttle valve is above a predetermined value. Meanwhile if it is determined that the amount of water in the tank 41 is zero, the ignition plug 10 is energized in accordance with an ignition timing signal which is obtained by subtracting the amount DELTAT of ignition timing compensation from the degree Tt of ignition timing advance.
