Foil winding transformer
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent a winding from displacement and loosening and eliminate a winding supporting means by a method wherein a wedge, curved along the direction of the winding of a metal sheet, is driven in between the metal sheet and an insulating sheet which compose a foil winding. CONSTITUTION:Ring-shape wedges 5 are driven in between the winding sheets directly from the top and the bottom at about the center between cooling ducts 4a, 4b of a high voltage winding 1, therefore displacement and loosening of the winding caused by the self-weight of the winding, drying and the temperature change during operation can be avoided regardless to the tension at the time of the foil winding. Moreover, because the whole winding is made solid and fixed almost like a rigid body and given a high stability against several kinds of mechanical force, a winding supporting means is not necessary and the cost can be saved. The position where the ring-shape wedge 5 is driven-in is limited to about the center between the cooling ducts 4a, 4b so that it is almost unnecessary to consider the effect of the driving-in of the wedge to the heat transmission to the radial direction of the winding and the cooling efficiency is not reduced. As the wedge 5 itself is an insulator, the dielectric strength is not reduced either.
