Paper end detector

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enable to detect the trailing end of a paper at the moment printing on one page is completed, by a method wherein the spacing between a detecting position and a printing position for a paper can be changed in accordance with one-page length of a predetermined printing paper. CONSTITUTION:A paper-detecting mechanism 2 is moved in a vertical direction in accordance with a value set by a paper length setting mechanism 1 such as a dial, and the spacing l thereof from the printing position 3 is set to be a multiple of the one-page length of the printing paper 4. When the trailing end of the paper 4 is detected by the mechanism 2 during a process of printing on the paper 4, since the spacing l between the detecting position and the printing position 3 is a multiple of the one-page length, the last line in a page is located at the printing position 3, so that the trailing end is detected when the last line is printed.
