Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the transmission efficiency and to attain ease of troubleshooting of an MODEM or the like, by transmitting a transmission enable signal from the MODEM to a terminal connected directly, in a data highway system. CONSTITUTION:A transmission request signal RS for MODEM control transmitted from a terminal device 6 connected directly to a station node and the transmission enable signal CS transmitted from the MODEM 4 are transmitted and received by using a packet on a ring transmission line 8 in the data high- way system. Thus, the time when the transmittion request signal RS at the terminal device 6 is set on until the transmission enable enable signal CS is detected is a setting time only for turning the transmission enable signal CS of the MODEM 4 on, so that the transmission efficiency is improved and since the transmission enable signal of the MODEM 4 is monitored, the troubleshooting of the MODEM is simplified.
