Centrifugal spray apparatus for preparing powder

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To stably prepare a uniform powder in preparing a metal powder by a centrifugal spary method, by cladding a rotary cooling copper crucible with a refractory metal. CONSTITUTION:A rotary cooling copper crucible 2 for spraying a molten dripped stock metal to be communicated by centrifugal force according to a centrifugal spray method is cladded with a refactory metal to form a clad layer 1. As the refractory metal, W, Mo, Ta or Nb are used and the thickness of said clad layer 1 is regulated to about 5-1,000mum. By this method, the deterioration in the smoothness on the surface of the crucible 2 caused by erosion due to molten drips is reduced and a stable powder is prepared over a longtime.
