Scale preventing agent

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a phosphorus-free superior scale preventing agent which prevents the formation of scale despite the use in combination with known corrosion preventive materials of zinc, etc. by consisting of the same essentially of a copolymer of respectively prescribed ratios of (metha)acrylate monomers, allyl ether monomers and monomers copolymerizable with these monomers. CONSTITUTION:A scale preventing agent consisting essentially of the copolymer copolymerized with 20-99.5mol% (metha)acrylate monomers expressed by the formulaI, 0.5-80mol% allyl ether monomers expressed by the formula II and 0-40mol% monomers copolymerizable with these monomers. Here, the total of said three monomers is 100mol%. For example, (metha)acrylic acid is used for the monomer of the formulaI, 3-allyloxy propane-1,2-diol is for the monomer of the formula II and, styrene is for the monomer copolymerizable with these monomer, respectively. Said copolymer is usable as it is as the scale preventing agent and it is also possible to use the same after neutralization with alkaline materials.
