Liquid crystal display cell and its production
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation between the opposed substrates of a liquid crystal cell and to obtain good pictures by joining these substrates by the use of granular spacers and powdery adhesive, spot-joining not only the sealing parts in the peripheral parts of the substrates but also on the inside surfaces of the substrates thereby adhering the substrates. CONSTITUTION:Upper, lower glass substrates 1, 2 are placed to face with each other at an equal space via adhesive 3 and spacers 5 and liquid crystals 4 are sealed therebetween, whereby a liquid crystal display cell is formed. In this case the powdery adhesive 3 such as polyamide resins and the granules 5 for spacers that determine the space between the substrates 1 and 2 are used. These adhesive and granules are interspersed not only in the conventional sealing parts in the peripheral parts of the substrates 1, 2 but also in the display parts on the inside surfaces between the substrates within the range having no influence upon displaying, whereby the substrates are spot-joined. Since joining 10 at many spots on the display surfaces is made possible in addition to the joining in the conventional sealing parts, the adhesion of the spacers 5 increases, the deformation between the substrates is eliminated and the good image display is obtained.
