Forming method for film
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To enable the utilization of a film for a solar cell and an electrophotographic sensitive substance, by forming a current of protection gas along the inner wall of a part of an air-tight vessel through which ultraviolet rays are transmitted, and thereby suppressing the light-sensitized reaction of mercury atoms in the vicinity of said inner wall so as to prevent the deterioration of the transmission of the ultraviolet rays. CONSTITUTION:A gas which does not react with activated mercury atoms, such as a gas of Ar or N2, for instance, is used as a protection gas, and it is made to flow from an auxiliary channel 8 into a vessel along the inner wall thereof. Then, this protection gas (shown by an arrow 9) proceeds toward a discharge channel 7 along the inner wall, leading the mercury atoms toward the discharge channel 7 against their move toward the inner wall of the vessel. Therefore, the light-sensitized reaction of the mercury in the vicinity of the inner wall is reduced, and even when any reaction product appears, it is sent to the discharge channel 7 without being deposited on the inner wall. Accordingly, the adhesion or deposition of the reaction product onto the inner wall of the vessel is remarkably restrained, and thus the deterioration of the transmission of ultraviolet rays is prevented.
