Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To highly accurately measure flow rate, by covering the whole range including a supporting terminal part with a film such as heat resisting resin to suppress the quantity of heat radiation from the surface of a resistor at its minimum. CONSTITUTION:Conductive leads 2 consisting of metal or the like are fixed on both the ends of an insulating cylindrical supporting body 1. Resistance wire with prescribed length which generates a fixed resistance value is wound around the supporting body 1 and generated Joule heat is irradiated in accordance with flow rate to measure the flow rate. The outer periphery of the whole range of a supporting part consisting of the lead 2, resistance wire 3 and lead 2 is coated with a film 5 formed by heat resisting resin or a glass material, so that the quantity of heat radiation due to lead wire 2 other than the surface of the resistor is suppressed at its minimum. Consequently the logical function characteristics of the relation between the flow rate and Joule heat is closely resembled to the logical function of all the flow rate range, making it possible to highly accurately measure the flow rate. In addition same result will be obtained by coating a conductive cylindrical supporting body with a metallic resistance film to unify the lead wire with the resistance wire, etc.
