Auto reverse mechanism

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To save space significantly, and to stabilize and secure auto reverse operation, by coaxially providing a gear, a cam and a power gear for oscillating a check plate. CONSTITUTION:An oscillatory gear 24, a cam 22 and a power gear 23 for oscillating a check plate 20 are provided coaxially on a shaft 36. The plate 20 is supported pivotally on a shaft 25, and a locking link 21 is also supported pivotally on a shaft 27; they are energized couterclockwise by springs 26 and 31, and the cam 22 engages the link 21. Once a tape end is detected, the plate 20 is rotated through the gear 24 and the link 21 rotates clockwise to disengage the cam 22. Therefore, the power gear 23 has a half turn and is locked by a pawl part 34. Thus, the gear 23 is locked securely at the tape end on every half turn and during the period, reels are changed through a pin 37. Therefore, the auto reverse operation is performed stably and securely.
