Manufacture of connector for optical fiber
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To simplify a working of a hole into which an optical fiber element is inserted, by embedding an intermediate material consisting of a material having good machinability to a hole to which the intermediate material of a plug is fitted and piercing a fiber element inserting hole on the intermediate material. CONSTITUTION:An inserting hole 11a of a fiber coated part and an intermediate fitting hole 11b which is connected to the inserting hole 11a and has a larger diameter than the hole 11a and is opened to a jointing end surface of a plug 11, are pierced at the axial center part of the plug 11 made of a stainless steel alloy. An intermediate material 12 made of a material having good machinability such as a free cutting ceramic, a free cutting aluminum and a magnesium alloy is pressurized or fixed in the hole 11b, and a jointing end surface 11c of the plug 11 and an end surface of the intermediate material 12 are finished like a mirror. Thereafter, a fiber element inserting hole 12c having a fine small diameter is pierced on the material 12.
