Connector made of plastic for optical fiber

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To insert easily and minimize the deviation of a position, by providing at least one piece of pressurizing piece to a rod having elasticity and by bringing the rod and fiber into contact at >=3 points. CONSTITUTION:A rod 1 is made of elastic plastics and has pressurizing pieces 3, 4, 5. The pieces have an equal shape or a twisted shape in a longitudinal direction and are a little pushed back to the outside by a fiber in the state that the optical fiber 6 is inserted in. The optical fiber 6 receives power uniformly by the pieces 3, 4, 5 and is held at the center of the rod 1 and is fixed when an adhesive 7 is penetrated into a hollow part. By this constitution, the outer diameter of the fiber 6 is not limited and is connectable even if the outer diameter is different to some degree as far as the diameter of a core is same. An optical fiber 12 may be fixed in a V groove 9 of a rod 8 by pressurizing pieces 10, 11 as shown by the figure.
