Toner image fixing device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce heat radiation from a halogen lamp, by preheating recording paper before the recording paper enters a fixing device. CONSTITUTION:A reflecting plate 2 is heated gradually by halogen lamp 1. Thereat, heat is dissipated in the air by heat sinks 3 so that the temp. of the reflecting plate 2 does not rise too much at the same time a recording paper is transported to a fixing device in order to dissipate the heat by the plates 3, a preheating plate 10 serving also as a heat dissipating plate and a recording paper guide extending part 4A made of a metallic plate. Since the recordong paper is preheated from the upper and lower parts, better heat efficiency is obtained during the time when said paper passes through a fixing transporting path. The temp. at the time of preheating the recording paper is detected by a temp. detecting sensor 9 and a good fixed image is obtained by varying the quantity of heat radiation from the halogen lamp 1 in accordance with the extent of the preheating.
