Base material for electrophotographic negative plate for lithographic printing

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve printing durability and quality of an image, by using a copolymer composed of 2-10wt% ethylenic unsaturated acid and 90-98wt% vinyl monomer, and a metallic compound as components of the anchor layer provided on the surface of an aluminium. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 5, comprising an aluminium laminate sheet, is prepared by coating the surface of an aluminium foil 3 as an anchor layer 4, with a mixture of a 82-99.8pts.wt. copolymer composed of 2-10wt% ethylenic unsaturated acid and 90-98wt% vinyl monomer, and 0.2-18pts.wt. polyvalent metal compound. For said polyvalent metal compound, a hydroxide such as of zinc, calcium, etc., a basic salt or the like is used. The anchor layer composed of such specific compound as mentioned above permits good contact with the aluminium surface, thereby providing excellent printing durability.
