Powder producing device
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To improve yield markedly and to prolong the life of an atomizing nozzle and a gate valve by floating a tundish from the bottom of a dissolving tank, and providing the atomizing nozzle between both. CONSTITUTION:Raw materials are charged into a dissolving tank 10 through its raw material charge port, and the charge port is closed. The inside of the tank 10 is evacuated and the raw materials are dissolved. The inside of the tank 10 and an atomizing chamber 19 is regulated to prescribed pressure of Ar. A ladle is tilted to transfer the molten metal in a tundish 16 placed on a dolly 17 so as to float by a prescribed distance from the bottom 11 of the tank 11 and the dolly 17 is moved to the atomizing position. Thereupon a nozzle stopper 14 is moved upward to open a nozzle 15, thereby droppig the molten metal by each small quantity. An atomizing gas is blown to the dropping molten metal from an atomizing nozzle 18 to cool the molten metal quickly so that the molten metal is made into powder during dropping in the chamber 19.
