Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent impossible reading due to dirt of a bar code, by locating a manual press code key manually inputting numeric data for a manual operation section of a bar code reader, in place of the reading operation of a reading sensor of a code signal with the operation of the code key. CONSTITUTION:Reflected light of a label 11 is fetched to a reading tool 12 from a reading inlet 20a of the reader, and light is irradiated to a bar code label 11 with the reader 12 of hand operation, and the light is formed on an image sensor 21 as the reading sensor. The optical image of the sensor 21 is processed at a terminal electronic circuit 30 and the processed electric signal is inputted to a reading controller 60. A light emitting diode 27 displaying the end of reading of the label 11 is provided in the case 20 of the reader 12 and a hand press code key 40 providing a plurality of numeric keys is located at the back of a case shell 20b of the case 20. When the impossible reading by electronic scanning of the sensor 21 is confirmed at the diode 27, data of a plurality of digits are inputted from the key 40 and processed at a code key input circuit 40 and applied to a device 60.
