Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a saw free from irregularity of a wall thickness in a part to be made thin, by a method wherein a corrosion resistant coating film is formed to the blade forming part and the handle part of a saw base material and a metal exposed surface other than the coating film formed parts are etched by a steel etching liquid to be formed into a thin wall. CONSTITUTION:To the part 1 to be formed into a blade and the handle part 2 of a saw base material A obtained from a thin steel plate, for example, a coating film 3 having corrosion resistance to an acid such as an etching resistant ink is formed by printing to expose only a body part 4. In the next step, to the saw base material A having the coating film 3 formed thereto, for example, a steel etching liquid comprising a ferric chloride solution, sulfuric acid, nitric acid or hydrochloric acid with a temp. of 30 deg.C is blown. This blowing time is different according to the kind of a saw but it is about 10min about a carpenter double-edged saw and, after blowing washing is carried out. After washing, the coating film 3 is removed and plural teeth are formed to the blade part 1 to obtain the saw of which only the body part 4 is made thin by etching.
