Electrophotographing method
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To erase an image record formed previously and to prevent appearances of ghost images at the time of forming images repeatedly, by bringing an electrode into contact with a photoreceptor prior to image formation and applying an alternating electric field. CONSTITUTION:An alternating electric field is applied by using a cleaning means which is brought into contact with a photoreceptor 1, and a blade 6 of a cleaning means 5 is constituted of a conductive rubber and is insulated by an insulating material 7. A lead wire 10 is fitted to the end part of the blade 6 which is connected to an alternation generating source 11. Electric potential of an electrostatic latent image formed on the photoreceptor 1 is normally upto 500V at the maximum and the lowest potential required for development is approximately above 100V. Therefore, an amplitude width of alternating electric field applied to the blade 6 is not effective below 100V, and about 1KV is preferable, but it is effective above 100V for erasing ghost images.
