Piperidine compound and its preparation

Abstract

Abstract NEW MATERIAL:The piperidine compound of formulaI(R1 is H or methyl; R2 is H, 1-18C alkyl, 1-10C alkylene or alkylidene, 3-5C trivalent hydrocarbon residue, or 5-10C tetravalent hydrocarbon residue; n is 1-4). EXAMPLE:2,2,6,6-Tetramethyl-4-piperidylaminopropionic acid. USE:Stabilizer for synthetic polymers against light, heat and oxidation. PROCESS:The compound of formulaIcan be prepared by reacting the piperidine compound of formula II with acrylic acid of formula III or its ester in the presence or absence of a catalyst and in the absence of solvent or in a solvent.
