Starter
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To locate a pinion shaft on the same axis with a motor axis by making an elongated through-hole in the recess of an output rotary shaft of a starter for idly supporting a pinion then engaging a projection of the pinion shaft with said elongated hole and activating said projection. CONSTITUTION:A pin projection 22 is fitted in a rear section through-hole 20a of a pinion shaft 2 where a pinion 21 is formed at the front end section, then engaged with an elongated hole section 24 formed in a drive sleeve 23 which is herical spline coupled with the pinion shaft 20. A flat gear 36 is formed at the end section of a motor armature rotary shaft 35 thus to constitute a planetary gear reduction structure with a planetary gear 32 and an inner gear 39 to be geared with said gear 32. A ring 25 is fitted in a groove 22a of a pin projection 22 to which a shift level 26 is engaged, thereby the pinion shaft can be moved under the state where both ends of a drive sleeve are supported even when the engine shaft and the pinion shaft are arranged in series.
