Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To protect a printing head, thereby prolong the serviceable life of the head and maintain a favorable printing condition for a long period of time, by a method wherein a cleaning member is provided in a feeding passage in a printing device, and a heat-sensitive paper cleaned by the cleaning member is subjected to heat-sensitive printing. CONSTITUTION:First, the leading end of a tape form heat-sensitive paper 3 wound around a winding means 2 with a ticket-printing surface on the inside is inserted into an inlet part 4c of a guide passage 4. When this condition is detected by the first detector 6, rollers 5 are driven to feed the paper 3 along the passage 4. Similarly, when the paper 3 is fed through the second detector 7 and the second rollers 8 and the end part of the paper 3 is detected by the thrid detector 10, the paper 3 is held by the rollers 8, 12. At this time, a dust-cleaning member 28 comes in contact with the ticket-printing surface, and cleans the surfaces of tickets when the tickets are fed. When the ticket enters a thermal head 11, a ticket paper P freed from dust and the like is fed in.
