Heat-sensitive transfer type printer
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To exchange a master tape less frequently, by a method wherein the amount of movement of a master tape relative to a thermal head after recording once is set to be 1/N-1 times of the length of a picture dot, when conducting heat transfer recording by using a master tape capable of repeating heat transfer N times starting from the same place. CONSTITUTION:For example, when conducting heat transfer recording by using the master tape 13 capable of producing picture dots with favorable density even when repeating heat transfer three times starting from the same place, the amount of movement DELTAL of the master tape 13 relative to the thermal head after recording once is set to be 1/3-1 times of the length L of the picture dots 52a-52c. The master tape 13 may be a tape which is provided with a porous ink-retaining layer on one side of a base layer.
