Internal combustion engine knocking control system
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To accurately detect knocking of a multi-cylindered internal combustion engine by a single sensor which is equal to physical judgement and to control the ignition timing by comparing knocking frequency signal from oscillation sensor with a basic level corresponding to the occured cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Knocking frequency component detection signal from oscillation sensor 2 or BPF5 etc. mounted backward of a cylinder block of 6 cylindered internal combustion engine 1, etc. is compared with a high or low basic level voltage which comes through analog switches 10, 11 selectively changeable according to combustion process relative to detection signals corresponding to front cylinders C1-C3 or back cylinders C4-C6 respectively in a comparison circuit 13. The knocking detection output outputted by this comparison circuit 13 is dealt by an integral circuit 14 and when the integral value surpasses a predetermined value, a knocking judgement circuit 15 outputs a knocking signal so as to control the ignition timing by an ignition timing controller 20. This construction accurately detects knocking of a multi-cylindered internal combustion engine by a single sensor which is equal to physical judgement and controls the ignition timing so as to restrain knocking.
