Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To easily construct a breakwater by interrupting the progressive wave of tide by a method in which air bags connected with an air tube and set away from each other with as much spacing as the wave length of the progressive wave are provided under the water surface in such a way as to lead the air bags to receive deformation resulting form the progressive wave. CONSTITUTION:One or plural pairs of air bags 1 and 2 to be easily deformed according to the variation in the pressure of tidal wave are set under the water surface of the sea or on the sea bed at as much interval B as half or one wave length L in parallel with the progressive direction of the tidal wave. The air bags 1 and 2 are connected with an air tube 3. Thus, the progressive wave can be completely interrupted by the deformation of the air bags 1 and 2 caused by the progression of the tidal wave.
