Toner for developing electrostatic images
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To enhance fluidity and to improve caking resistance, by coating the surface of each toner particle with conductive organic fine particles, and further with inorganic fine particles to form a conductive developing toner. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of 40pts.wt. polyethylene wax, 10pts.wt. ethylene- vinyl acetate copolymer, and 60pts.wt. Fe3O4 is uniformly melted, cooled, pulverized, and classified to obtain 10-35mum size toner particles. To these 100pts.wt. toner particles is added 0.8pt.wt. carbon black, and the mixture is vibrated with a shaker to coat each surface of the toner particle with conductive fine carbon particles, and it is further shaked together with 0.2pt.wt. colloidal silica to obtain an electrostatic image developing toner. It has 2X10<16>ohm.cm resistivity and it improves an angle of response from 44 deg. to 32 deg., and caking resistance in a 50 deg.C and 40% RH atmosphere, and it has fluidity in such a condition.
