Propeller pitch controlling device of variable pitch propeller ship

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To run an engine under the optimum air-fuel ratio at all times by a method wherein a propeller pitch is controlled taking the amount of engine suction air into consideration. CONSTITUTION:A signal from a propeller pitch instructing handle 2 is converted at function generators 12 and 13 to a set rack signal and a set suction pressure signal. A signal from a rotational speed setting handle 1 is inputted to the function generator 12. An engine-supercharger system E determines the suction pressure of the engine and its signal is compared at an adder 14 with the set suction pressure signal. The resultant of the comparison is compared through a limiter circuit 15 at a second adder 16 with the set rack signal and inputted through a limiter circuit 5 and a proportional and integral controller 6 to a third adder 7. The output from the adder 7 controls the propellr pitch. The controlling of the air-fuel can be optimum, because the signal of the amount of engine suction air is taken into consideration in controlling the propeller pitch.
