Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To efficiently swing-out and house a hanging object by a method wherein the center of gravity of a davit arm including the hanging object, a beam and the like is brought to the inboard side in case of housing the hanging object and brought to the outboard side in case of swinging-out the hanging object. CONSTITUTION:The base part of the davit arm 1 is pivotally supported through a hinge 2 on the deck 14 of a hull. The one end of the beam 5, to the other end of which an oil collector 15 as the hanging object is pivotally attached and hangingly supported through a pin 4, is pivotally attached to the tip of the davit arm 1. Furthermore, the center of gravity G of the davit arm 1 including the oil collector 15, the beam 5 and the like is so constituted as to lie within the inboard side with respect to the hinge 2 under the state that the oil collector 15 is housed and to lie within the outboard side under the state that the oil collector 15 is swung-out by means of a hydraulic cylinder 6. In such a manner as described above, the swinging-out and housing of the oil collector 15 can be efficiently performed.
