Tire tread constitution with low rollability
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the rolling resistance and to sustain the wet grip, by decreasing the energy loss at a tread section. CONSTITUTION:The tire tread constitution has a loss tangent of cap tread rubber of 0.24 or below, and a resilience of 60% or above so that it is advantageous with respect to the rolling resistance. Since the wet grip and the wear resistance of this cap tread rubber must be retained until the tire is completely worn out, the volume of the cap tread rubber should be 60 to 70% of the whole thickness of the tread. The value of the loss tangent of the base tread rubber should be at most the value of the loss tangent of the cap tread rubber.
