Structure of heat exchanger utilizing metal hydride
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To recover a quantity of heat effectively, by flowing heat carrier fluid through the gaps in the fiber of a material, and improving a heat transfer coefficient. CONSTITUTION:Since the heat transfer coefficient of the material of a filler 8 is high and the filler is contacted with the outer surface of the metal hydride supporting container 2 made of metal, the surface of the fiber of the filler 8 or the surface of continous bubbles becomes a heat exchange surface. Through this surface, the heat generated from the metal hydride when hydrogen is absorbed is transferred to the heat carrier fluid. Based on the passing of the heat carrier fluid through the gaps or bubbles in the entangled fiber, the fluid is disturbed, the heat transfer coefficent between the heat exchange surface and the fluid is improved, and the quantity of heat generated from the metal hydride is effectively recovered.
