Chromate treatment for plated steel plate
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To form outstanding chromate films by treating the surfaces of a plated steel with a chromating soln. prepd. by adding an F compd. consisting of F<-> or fluorine complex ions and Ba<+2> alone as an etching agent to an aq. CrO3 soln. and retarding the aging of said chromating soln. CONSTITUTION:A chromating soln. contg. 10-50g/l CrO3, Ba<2+> alone as cations, and >=0.04g/l in terms of an F element of a fluorine compd. consisting of F<+> or fluorine comlex ions as anions (e.g.;BaF2, BaSiF6, etc.) respectively is prepd. The surfaces of a plated steel plate are treated with said chromating soln. As a result, the aging of the used chromating soln. is slow and the chromate films which are hard to dissolve in water and have excellent corrosion resistance, workability, adhesive strength of paint films, etc. are formed.
