Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enable smoothly performing the starting even in the occurrence of trouble, such as drop of the power voltage, etc. in such a way that when starting but a computer does not normally function, an actuator of a fuel injection rate control member is directly connected to the power source side. CONSTITUTION:At the time of starting, in the event that a starter switch 94 is turned on, when there is any abnormality in the power source, and a computer 80 may not normally function, output comes also from a voltage drop detecting circuit 96, an AND gate 92 is turned on, and the power voltage is applied as it is from an OR gate 90 independent of the voltage from a servo circuit 82. In consequence, the maximum current is freely let out to a solenoid 60 of an actuator to a spill ring as a fuel injection rate control member of a fuel injection pump, and said actuator controls the fuel injection pump in order to maximize the fuel injection rate. On another hand, at the time of normal driving of the engine, the solenoid 60 is controlled by means of output from the servo circuit 82.
