Magnetic storage device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent a failure arising in case of a positive voltage applied to a magnetic storage body due to any cause in advance, by applying a voltage between the magnetic storage medium and a magnetic head so that the magnetic head is positive and the storage medium is negative. CONSTITUTION:Voltage is applied between a magnetic disc 3 fitted to a rotary shaft 2 and a magnetic head 4 floating in opposition to the disc 3 and recording and reproducing information on the disc 3. In applying the voltage between the head 4 and a magnetic storage body, first both of them are electrically insulated and one end of a power supply 5 is connected to a head support 7 fixing a head arm 6 and another end is connected to a rotary shaft 2. The polarity of the voltage is positive for the magnetic head and negative for the storage body. Thus, failures such as protecting film exfoliation caused when a positive voltage is applied to the magnetic storage body due to any cause can be prevented in advance.
