Abstract
Abstract NEW MATERIAL:The dihydric phenol derivative of formulaI(R1 and R2 are H or CH3). EXAMPLE:1,3-[2-(2,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-2-propyl]benzene. USE:Raw material for the preparation of high-performance thermoplasic polymer, surface active agent, resin modifier, stabilizer, etc. PROCESS:A dihydric phenol is made to react with a compound selected from the group of formula II, formula III and formula IV in the presence of an acidic condensation agent at -20-+100 deg.C, and the objective dihydric phenol derivative of formulaIis recovered from the mixture obtained by the reaction.
