Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To very stably and surely reproduce a recording medium, by providing a circuit which discriminates and reproduces the 3rd reference signal from the recording medium where two types of reference signals and the 3rd reference signal are recorded and produces a signal locked with the phase. CONSTITUTION:The 3rd reference signal fP3 is separated from a reproducing signal at a filter 8. A reproducing circuit 18 produces a detected reference signal in synchronizing with the separation and if no fP3 is applied, the detected reference signal of the same period is produced. A discriminator 26 picks up a composite synchronizing signal from a video signal, discriminates the duty ratio, and applies the fP3 to the circuit 18 corresponding to the output of discrimination. Thus, even if no fP3 is reproduced or supplied, the detected reference signal can stably by produced without missing. Further, the circuit 26 discriminates the duty ratio and detects noise in the composite synchronizing signal, the supply of the fP3 to the circuit 18 is interrupted, even if the filter 8 is malfunctioned due to whitenoise, the detected reference signal can stably and surely be outputted.
