Solid-state image pickup device
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To use in common a titled device for a movie image pickup and still image pickup without deteriorating the sensitivity of the movie image pickup, by arranging vertical picture elements to an image pickup part of two times a normal amount, by reading by adding two picture elements for the movie image pickup, and by reading for every two picture elements for the still image pickup to improve the resolution of the still image pickup. CONSTITUTION:Vertical picture elements equivalent to two times a normal amount are arranged to an image pickup part 1 and accumulating part 2 of an image pickup element 11. For a movie image pickup, a clock signal for transferring is operated with a frequency 2fF equivalent to two times normal one at the time of a frame shift. A clock signal phi'st1 and phi'st2 are operated with a frequency 2fL equivalent to two times normal one at the time of a line shift to apply a clock voltage VOG synchronizing with a frequency of the 1/2 of the signals phi'#st1 and phi'st2 to a signal adding electrode 12, and a clock signal H1 for transferring of a horizontal register 3 is operated with a frequency of fH of the same one as normal. Thus two picture elements in vertical direction are added at the time of the line shift to transfer an A+a signal. In case of still image pickup, a signal phi'st1 and phi'st2 of frequency 2fF are given to the accumulating part 2 at the time of the line shift, and a clock voltage VOG of the adding electrode 12 is simultaneously operated with the same frequency as that of the signals phi'st1 and phi'st2. Further, the signal H1 is operated with a frequency 2fH equivalent to two times a normal one to read out a picture element signal of one field within 1/60sec.
