Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a recoder capable of performing high-speed recording without the need to mount an ink ribbon on a carriage by using a system in which the ink ribbon can be supplied and recovered by means of the first ribbon holder according to the reciprocal movement of a recording head. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon 22 is held between a supply reel 21 and a winding reel 28, and the ink ribbon is supplied and recovered by the reel 21 according to the reciprocal movement of a recording head 34. When the recording head 34 is stopped, the winding reel 28 is turned toward the direction of arrow, the carriage 1 moves forward, the ribbon 22 is wound up by as much a length as needed for recording, the ribbon 22 is pressed by a platen 35 by a friction part 33 for fixation, and thereby the sending-out of the ribbon 22 from the reel 21 prohibited.
