Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To make the construction simple and the size small, by disposing the insulation rolls each produced by forming a dielectric layer on a conductor in parallel and proximity with and to developing rolls and transferring and sticking the developer on the developing roll onto the insulation roll by the effect of the electric field between both rolls. CONSTITUTION:In a dry two-component developing device for color development, a developing drum 15 is internally quadrisected by partition plates 19, and each one set of magnetic brush type developing rolls 17 and insulation rolls 18 are stored in parallel therein. Toners 20 of 4 colors are stored in separate colors in the quadrisected cavities 21 thereof. The electrostatic latent image on recording paper 25 is developed by rotating such drum 15 intermittently by 90 deg.. The developer of a pescribed density or above is supplied excessively to the roll 17 in the 2nd position P2 but when the roll comes to the 3rd position P3, a DC voltage is applied between the roll 17 and the roll 18, and the toner 20 on the roll 17 is transferred gradually to the roll 18 side by the electrostatic force between the same, whereby the toner density is regulated in an optimum range.
