Production of conjugated diene polymer
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a polymer having a high cis-1,4-bonding content and excellent vulcanization characteristcs, by polymerizing a conjugated diene with the aid of a catalyst comprising an Al compound and a reaction product of a Lewis base and a carboxylic acid salt of a lanthanide rare earth. CONSTITUTION:The following components are mixed together and reacted to form a catalyst: (A) a reaction product of a Lewis base and a carboxylic acid salt of a lanthanide rare earth represented by formulaI, (B) an organoalumium compound of formula II, wherein R<2>, R<3> and R<4> are each hydrogen or 1-8C hydrocarbyl, (C) an (alkyl)aluminum halide of formula III, wherein X, is Cl, Br, F or I, R<5> is 1-8C hydrocarbon and n is 1, 1.5, 2 or 3 and, if necessary, (D) a conjugated diene. The purpose conjugated diene polymer is obtained by polymerizing a conjugated diene (e.g., isoprene) in the presence of the produced catalyst.
